The design was created originally in 1985 by Raphael Maklouf for the Royal Mint of England as the third-generation British effigy of the Queen for national coinage. Reverse

The topping piece to the Victoria Memorial in London, the statue of Victory stands here with her right hand raised out in front of her as her left hand clutches a palm branch, an ancient symbol of victory and peace. The inscriptions on this side include Victory Through Harmony.

History

The Queens Virtues is a reference to the six allegorical figures in the statuesque monument known as the Victoria Memorial in London. Victory stands front and center in this monument, flanked by Constancy and Courage at her feet. At the base of the monument are depictions of Justice and Truth. The sixth Queens Virtue is Charity.
