The design was created in 2020 by Emily Damstra and shows a bald eagle flying through the design element with its wings flexed and its talons clutching an oak branch. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER, ONE DOLLAR, and the S mint mark of the San Francisco Mint.

History

Emily Damstra is a member of the United States Mint Artistic Infusion Program and has worked with various mints on coin designs. She has worked with the Royal Canadian Mint on the Canadian Wildlife and Birds of Prey Series, as well as with the United States Mint on the America the Beautiful Series.
