History

Ladybugs are one of the more beloved insects on the planet. These insects get their name from European farmers who prayed to the Blessed Virgin Mary that their crops would survive the raids of pesky insects. Because ladybugs arrived and ate the unwanted insects, they were named the Beetle of Our Lady. Later, this was shortened to just ladybug.
