Reverse
On the reverse field of 2021 O Privy Morgan Dollar Silver Coins is an image of the heraldic eagle of the United States. Created by Morgan in 1878, the design element features a bald eagle in front-facing relief as it clutches the arrow of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons. The field includes inscriptions of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and ONE DOLLAR. Beneath the bow at the center of the oak-and-laurel wreath, just above the D and O in DOLLAR, is the O privy in honor of the New Orleans Mint.
History
The United States Mint issued five versions of the 2021 Morgan Dollar to celebrate the centennial of its final release. The Philadelphia Mint issued three of the coins. The coin without a mint mark or privy represents Philadelphias original versions of the coin. The Philadelphia Mint issued coins with CC and O privy marks in honor of the now-defunct Carson City and New Orleans Mints. The Denver Mint and San Francisco Mint each issued coins with their respective mint marks as well.
