The symbolism on the reverse side of the Mexican Libertad Silver Coins honors the nations long struggle for freedom from Spanish colonial rule in the early 19th century. The statuesque figure at the top of the pedestal is Winged Victory. Her statue was created in 1910 to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of Mexicos revolutionary war. When the Mexican Independence Victory Column was erected in 1921 to mark the 100th anniversary of the wars conclusion, Winged Victorys figure was placed atop the pedestal.

Obverse

Mexican Libertad Silver Coins debuted in 1982 with a 1 oz silver coin. In 1991, these 1/10 oz silver coins were added alongside 1/20 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/2 oz silver coins. In 1996, the 2 oz and 5 oz silver coins joined the program, followed by the 1 Kilo silver coins. The highest mintages of the Mexican Libertad 1/10 oz Silver Coins came between 1992 and 1994, with 1992 holding the record at 299,933 coins sold.
