History
Mechagodzillas origins can be traced back to the 1974 Toho production titled Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla. In that film, Mechagodzilla is suggested to be extraterrestrial, though in later depictions the character is described as manmade. Most recently, Mechagodzilla appeared in the 2021 blockbuster Godzilla vs. Kong. In that film, it took on the consciousness of the villain Ghidorah and became a threat far greater than either King Kong or Godzilla.
