The Queens Beast Series from the Royal Mint of England has captivated investors and collectors with its beautiful designs since 2016 when the program debuted. The 10 distinctive designs in this series catalog the history of the creatures that have featured in the Royal Arms of England at various points in the nearly 1,000-year history of the official Royal Arms. The series concludes in 2021 with the White Greyhound of Richmond. Provident Metals now offers the 2021 British Queens Beast White Greyhound 1 oz Gold Coin to you for purchase online.

Obverse
The obverse side of the 2021 British Queens Beast White Greyhound 1 oz Gold Coin includes a depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. This fifth-generation portrait of the Queen captures Her Majesty in right-profile relief wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown at the age of 89. The inscriptions on this face of the coin include Elizabeth II, D.G. Reg. F.D., and 100 Pounds. The entire background field is covered in the guilloche design element meant to provide defense against counterfeiting.
Reverse
On the reverse face of the 2021 British Queens Beast White Greyhound Gold Coin is a depiction of the Tudor seal supported by the White Greyhound. King Henry VII, founder of the Tudor Dynasty and the victor in the Wars of the Roses, used the White Greyhound as a support of his badges and standards during his reign as King of England. The Tudor seal includes a crowned shield that is split vertically down its center with a large rose at the heart of the seal. The inscriptions on this side read White Greyhound of Richmond and 1 oz Fine Gold 999.9 2021.
History
The White Greyhound is a favored breed in Northern England and its use in badges dates to John of Gaunt, 1st Duke of Lancaster in the 14th century. He was later the steward/earl of the Honor of Richmond and it would continue to be associated with the House of Lancaster and Richmondshire until Edmund Tudor, father of King Henry VII, was made Earl of Richmond.
