The Australias Most Dangerous series of designs from the Royal Australian Mint show off some of the deadliest animal species found on the Australian continent and in the waters that line its coast and crisscross its landmass. Second in the series, and first from beneath the waves, is the Great White Shark. Right now, you can purchase 2021 Australian Great White Shark 1 oz Silver Coins online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
With your purchase of a 2021 Australian Great White Shark 1 oz Silver Coin from Provident Metals comes an individual protective plastic capsule to house the coin. Each coin in this series is available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition from the Royal Australian Mint with a mintage cap of just 25,000 coins in all. The Great White Shark design release follows the Redback Spider in the series.
Obverse
The obverse of the 2021 Australian Great White Shark 1 oz Silver Coin comes with the sixth-generation bust of Queen Elizabeth II. This design captures the Queen at the age of 89 as she wears the George IV State Diadem Crown. Jody Clark created this effigy of the Queen in right-profile relief in 2015 for the Royal Mint of England and it has been adopted for use on Australian coins as of 2019. Inscriptions on this side of the coin include Elizabeth II, Australia, 2021, and 1 Dollar.
Reverse
On the reverse field of 2021 Australian Great White Shark Silver Coins is a depiction of the massive Great White. A member of the mackerel species of sharks, the Great White is one of the most feared predators in the sea because of its capacity to do great damage when it attacks and its status as an apex predator. Humans all too often come in contact with Great Whites lingering near the shores. Swimmers and surfers, in particular, are the most likely to come in contact with the Great White and suffer from its killer instinct as a result. The inscriptions on this face of the coin read Great White Shark and 1 oz .999 Fine Silver.
History
The Royal Australian Mint is Australias official sovereign mint. One of only two operating mints in Australia, it was opened in the federal capital of Canberra in 1965 following the Currency Act of 1965. It produces both bullion coinage for Australia, such as these Great White Shark coins, and the countrys fiat currency.
