Please take note that the US Mint recently added black tape to the top of the tubes of 2021 American Eagle Type 2 coins. This tape has been shown to break easily as a result of minor vibrations or handling. It is possible the tube you receive may have broken or loose tape. Provident Metals has decided to apply our own tape to these tubes for shipping to ensure the tubes remain secure during the delivery process.
After 35 years in production with the same iconic designs, the American Eagle Silver Coin will boast a slightly different appearance for the first time in its history starting mid-2021. The United States Mint has unveiled a new reverse design depicting the American bald eagle in a natural design. This is the first change ever to come to the series and marks an exciting new path forward for the collection. Right now, you can buy 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin Tubes with Type 2 designs online at Provident Metals.
With your purchase of the 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin Tube in this listing at Provident Metals, you receive a plastic tube holding a total of 20 separate Type 2 coins from the American Eagle Silver release. These coins are all in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and boast a combined face value of $20 (USD) with 20 Troy oz of .999 pure silver content. You can also purchase bulk quantities through our specific 2021 American Eagle Type 2 Tube and 2021 American Eagle Type 2 Monster Box listings.
The obverse of 2021 American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins in this Type 2 Tube depicts Walking Liberty. Set in left-profile relief, the image of Liberty includes branches of oak and laurel in her left hand with the American flag draped around her figure as she walks toward the sun on the horizon. The inscriptions on this face of the coin include Liberty, In God We Trust, and 2021. The enhanced vision of Walking Liberty on this side depicts Liberty as she featured on the US Half Dollar starting in 1916 and now includes Weinman’s original artistic signature with his “AW” initials.
On the reverse side of the 2021 American Eagle Silver Coin is a new image of the American bald eagle. This all-new design replaces John Mercantis heraldic eagle and captures a more life-like eagle. As the bird swoops down into view, it clutches an oak branch in its talons. The inscriptions around the design have been rearranged to accommodate the new imagery, but still include the standard text of United States of America, 1 oz. Fine Silver, One Dollar, and E Pluribus Unum.
The new American Eagle Silver Coin design comes from Emil Damstra, an accomplished artist and designer who is a member of the US Mint Artistic Infusion Program. She has previously completed reverse artwork for the 2019 and 2020 ATB releases at the US Mint, as well as the Canadian Wildlife and Birds of Prey Series from the Royal Canadian Mint.
