The Mexican Libertad bullion coin program, consisting of gold and silver bullion coins, features a design inspired by the gold Centenario. The Centenario was a 50 Peso gold piece issued by the Mexican Mint in 1921 to mark 100 years since the end of the nations war of independence with Spain. That same image of Victory appeared on the original gold and silver bullion coins in this program when the Mexican Mint introduced it in the 1980s.

Obverse
