History

Per a request by the Bat Preservers Association and Dr. Paul Cox, Congress took a bill to authorize the formation of the National Park of American Samoa in 1984. The idea was to protect the native habitat of the Flying fox while also preserving the rainforest on the islands of American Samoa.
