The obverse displays coin artist Jody Clark’s effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, along with the legend “ELIZABETH II, D.G. REG. F.D., 100 POUNDS”, and the designer’s initials surrounding the image.
Designed by Royal Mint coin artist Jody Clark, the reverse features the White Lion of Mortimer rearing up on its hind legs behind a shield. The shield depicts a white rose encircled by a golden sun, known heraldically as a ‘white rose en soleil’. The coin’s weight, purity, year of issue, and “WHITE LION OF MORTIMER” encircle the image.
