Obverse

President George Washington is featured on the obverse face of 2020 ATB Weir Farm National Historic Site 5 oz Silver Coins. This left-profile bust of President Washington includes inscriptions of United States of America above the bust, Liberty in front of Washington, In God We Trust behind Washington, and Quarter Dollar below the portrait. It was designed in 1932 by John Flanagan for the circulating quarter.

Reverse

Weir Farm National Historic Site 5 oz Silver Coins are available from the US Mint with a depiction on the reverse face capturing an artist at his easel. Weir Farm National Historic Site preserves the farm and surrounding lands established by J. Alden Weir in 1882. He purchased the 153-acre plot that became a farm for artists for just $10 and a painting.

History

Weir developed the land as a rural retreat for himself on which he built an artists studio that he would use himself. He would also host other artists on the site over the years. Established in its current protected form in 1990, Weir Farm National Historic Site is one of just two sites in the National Park Service devoted to the visual arts.
