The British Lunar Series from the Royal Mint of England uses the Mandarin Chinese term for the Zodiac, Shengxiao, in the name of its collection. The British series focuses on offering only a 1 oz silver and 1 oz gold bullion option using 8 in the mintage figures for all releases on purpose. The number 8 is considered lucky in Chinese culture. Wuon-Gean Ho has been the artist for the series since it debuted in 2014.

Obverse

Designed by Jody Clark in 2015, this image began appearing on British coins in 2016. In this right-profile portrait, Her Majesty wears the George IV State Diadem crown. Reverse

All coins in the Shengxiao Series have distinctive elements on the obverse and reverse background fields. For example, the background on the reverse of these coins has a stylized field of grass the dog is running through. The background of the obverse has the Royal Mints guilloche element.
