These 2018 American Buffalo 1 oz Gold Coin, listed in BU condition, maintain their pristine appearance. While they exhibit no signs of wear, minimal imperfections like breaks in the luster, spotted surfaces, or slight contact marks might be present due to the coining process. Coins arrive in individual protective plastic flips. For larger orders, tubes of 20 are also available.
Obverse
Adorning the obverse of the 2018 American Buffalo Gold Coin is the right-profile portrait of the tribal leader. Fraser reportedly merged facial features from three distinct American Indian leaders. Inscriptions include 2018, F, and LIBERTY.
Reverse
The reverse of each 2018 Buffalo 1 oz Gold Coin displays the left-side image of a bison, standing on a mound of dirt and grass. The bison’s roots can be traced back to Black Diamond, a famed resident bison of the Central Park Zoo. Inscriptions read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, E PLURIBUS UNUM, $50, and 1 OZ .9999 FINE GOLD.
History
Honoring the golden era of American coining in the early 20th century, the American Buffalo Gold Coin draws inspiration from former circulation coin designs, echoing the prestigious American Eagle Series. James Earle Frasers Buffalo Nickel design beautifully captures the essence of the plains and prairies of the Upper Midwest.
The Buffalo Nickel coins portrayed a portrait of an American Indian leader on one side and the majestic image of an American bison on the other. Frasers Buffalo Nickel, authorized during President William Howard Tafts administration, circulated from 1913 to 1938.

When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
