The coin has received a grading from the NGC of PF69, meaning it is a near-perfect specimen but may contain a maximum of two minor flaws. These flaws are either tiny contact marks or hairlines that are outside the coins central focal point. This 2017-coin release also features a proof quality, meaning that the background of the coin is mirrored while the design is frosted.

History

The obverse and reverse designs of this 2017 coin were both designed by Jody Clark and released through the Great Britain Label. This coin is the first release for the series which will eventually have ten different coins to honor the stone creatures that were present at Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation.

Reverse

On the reverse of the 2017 Proof British Queens Beast Lion 1 oz Silver Coin NGC PF69 is the image of a lion holding a shield. The lion is shown standing on its hind legs as it extends one paw and roars into the sky. Four different quadrants are shown on the shield to represent the three countries of Great Britain, including Ireland, Scotland, and England. The lion is shown wearing a crown on his head. The release here of the coin is also on the reverse, as well as the LION OF ENGLAND inscription.
