The obverse of 2017 Australian Swan Silver Coins features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is shown here in right-profile relief wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. This design was created in 1998 by Ian Rank-Broadley to serve as the fourth-generation portrait of the Queen on British coins. In 1999, it came to Australian coins as the fifth-generation effigy of the Queen to grace Australian coinage. The design includes inscriptions of ELIZABETH II, AUSTRALIA, 2017, and 1 DOLLAR.

Reverse

On the reverse side of the 2017 Australian Swan 1 oz Silver Coin is a depiction of the graceful swan. The debut design shows a swan gliding along the water in left-profile relief. The swan is generally at rest, with its wings folded in at its sides as it paddles along. The long, graceful neck of the swan curls up from its body to its head as it rests in a downward position. The field includes inscriptions of THE 1 OZ 9999 AUSTRALIAN SWAN and the P mint mark of Perth Mint.
