On the reverse face of the 2013-P ATB Burnished Perrys Victory Silver Coin is a statue of Oliver Hazard Perry at the site of the International Peace Memorial. Perry was the naval commander of American forces at the Battle of Lake Erie in 1813. This conflict during the War of 1812 was critical to American success in the western campaign of the war. The inscriptions on this side include PERRYS VICTORY, OHIO, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and 2013.

History

Perrys victory at the Battle of Lake Erie was a decisive result for American forces over the British Royal Navy. The victory was one of nine critical American victories in the western campaign of the War of 1812 that would help lead to an eventual American victory in the war.
