With your purchase of 2012 ATB Chaco Culture 5 oz Silver Coins in this listing, you will receive a coin with a near-perfect certification from the PCGS. Mint State 69 coins exhibit full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Those flaws are limited in nature to minuscule contact marks or hairlines and limited in scope to the areas outside of the primary focal points of the coin.

Obverse

On the obverse side of the 2012 ATB Chaco Culture 5 oz Silver Coin is President George Washington. This left-profile bust of the first President of the United States of America was created in 1932 by John Flanagan for the US Mint to use on the circulating quarter. It replaced the Standing Liberty design and has been modified slightly for use in the ATB Series.

Reverse

The reverse face of 2012 ATB Chaco Culture 5 oz Silver Coins includes the image of two kivas from Chaco Culture National Historical Park. Located between Farmington and Albuquerque in the US state of New Mexico, the Chaco Culture National Historical Park protects some of the pueblo concentrations built thousands of years ago.

History

Chaco Culture National Historical Park may have been established as US National Monument in 1907 by President Theodore Roosevelt, but its history dates back at least 1,000 years earlier. Between 900 and 1150 AD, kivas such as those protected in Chaco Culture National Historical Park were inhabited by Pueblo cultures and housed unprecedented concentrations of indigenous peoples.

Ordering

These 2012 ATB Chaco Culture 5 oz Silver Coins are available as PL, or proof-like specimens as the PCGS notes. Though these are bullion coins, each has elements of frosted designs and mirrored fields.
