On the obverse of 2011 Philharmonic 1 oz Gold Coins, you will find a depiction of the Great Pipe Organ in the Musikverein. The design field includes the inscriptions of REPUBLIK OSTERREICH, 1 UNZE GOLD 999.9, 2011, and 100 EURO.

The reverse face of the 2011 Austrian Philharmonic Gold Coin includes a depiction of musical instruments. In the design field, you will find a cello at the center with two violins on either side. The background includes a horn, a bassoon, and a harp. Inscriptions on this side read WIENER PHILHARMONIKER.

The Musikverein is home to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, which performs in the hall frequently throughout the year. The hall has also hosted many other famous musicians and orchestras over the years, including Gustav Mahler, Johannes Brahms, and Leonard Bernstein.

The 2011 Austrian Philharmonic 1 oz Gold Coin comes with an individual plastic flip. The coins had a mintage of nearly 600,000 units in 1 oz gold in 2011, an increase compared to 2010, but down significantly from 2009.
