With the release of 2009 American Eagle Gold Coins, demand was up across the board among three of the four weights. The 1/10 oz gold coin was the only one to see a drop in demand from the previous year. For the 1/4 oz gold coin, demand was up by 40,000 coins from the previous year and was up nearly three fold from the 2007 release when the 1/4 oz gold weight set a record low.
