The 2008 release of Burnished American Eagle Silver Coins was notable in that it marked an early end to consecutive coining in the series. The Burnished Eagle was introduced in 2006, but only struck through 2008 before the US Mint halted production in 2009 and 2010. The Burnished Eagle resumed annual production in 2011.
