Obverse

The obverse of each round in 2022 Germania Beasts Fenrir Silver Sets features the wolf Fenir from Norse mythology. Here, Fenir is shown facing right and bound by magical chains. Like the previous Fafnir release, we only see the top half of Fenirs body, with the rest of the design shown on the coins reverse. You will see inscriptions also reading FENIR, 1 OZ AG 999.9.

Reverse

On the reverse side of the rounds in 2 x 1 oz Silver 2022 Germania Beasts Fenrir Geminus Sets youll see the lower portion of Fenirs body. Because this set features two rounds with identical designs, you are able to line them vertically to complete the image. To the right of the design, you will see the iconic seal of Germania Mint featuring a double-headed eagle. There are also inscriptions that read GERMANIA, 2022, 5 MARK.

History

According to legend, Fenir was raised by the Aesir gods, who feared his destructive powers. As he grew rapidly in size and strength, the gods were forced to chain Fenir down with a magical yoke. It was said that Fenir would escape his bondage at the doomsday event known as Ragnarok. He would then kill Odin, supreme leader of the gods, before meeting his own demise at the hands of Odins avenging son Vidarr.
