The 2 oz Silver $10 Indian round pays tribute to the iconic ten dollar gold eagle piece struck by the United States Mint continuously from 1907 until 1916, and then irregularly until 1933. In 1904, President Theodore Roosevelt commissioned the famous sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens to overhaul American gold coinage in the style of ultra high-relief ancient Greek coins. Saint-Gaudens work led to the Double Eagle $20 gold piece and the Indian Head $10 gold piece, along with other treasured American coins. Saint-Gaudens passed away before he could complete designs for the entire run of American coins, but his finished masterpieces will be treasured for years to come.
The Intaglio Mint 2 oz Silver $10 Indian Tribute round is intricately sculpted in a domed, ultra-high relief format from 2 oz .999 pure silver. Each round is a substantial 6 mm thick with a beautiful reeded edge. Add one of these exquisite and historic rounds to your collection today!
The obverse features a profile view of Lady Liberty wearing a Native American feathered war bonnet, akin to the original Saint Gaudens $10 Indian Head gold eagle. “LIBERTY” is inscribed on the headband of the bonnet, and “1910” is inscribed below. Above the bust design are 13 stars to represent the original states or colonies.
The reverse is also reminiscent of the original Indian Head $10 Gold Eagle. It features a bold design of an American bald eagle standing proudly atop a bundle of arrows (for war) that are encircled by an olive branch (for peace). To the right of the Eagle’s head are the words “E PLURIBUS UNUM” and next to the eagle’s breast is the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” On the outer periphery are the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” and metal weight “TWO TROY OUNCES.”

" This is a very nice, quality round, but the picture is a little misleading. One of reasons purchased a couple was because I thought it would say ?Ten Dollars? on the reverse like the picture shows...but it doesn?t. Instead it says 2 Troy Oz. It actually says that in the description, but I didn?t realize that until after I received them. Still, very nice round from Intaglio and Provident!"
