The lowest minted single coin in the history of the Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin series was the 1995-W coin. In 1995, the Proof American Eagle Silver Coins were being produced by the Philadelphia Mint, but a special 10th-anniversary coin was issued that year with a W mint mark from the West Point Mint some six years before the West Point Mint would take over coining the Proof American Eagle Silver coins. Right now, you have the rare chance to purchase a perfect condition 1995-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin online from Provident Metals.

With your purchase of the 1995-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coin in this product listing, you receive a protective plastic slab housing the coin. The PCGS assigns a PR70 certification to perfect coins with full, original mint luster and no signs of detracting flaws anywhere on the design elements or background fields. The additional DCAM label stands for deep-cameo and refers to the fact that the coin has strong, frosted designs and deeply-mirrored, clear background fields.

Obverse

Walking Liberty is featured on the obverse of all 1995-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins. Her figure is shown in left-profile relief as she walks toward the sun on the distant horizon. She wears the American flag draped over her shoulders as her right hand reaches out for the brightness of a new day and her left hand carries the branches of oak and laurel. Inscriptions include Liberty, In God We Trust, and 1995.

Reverse

The heraldic eagle of the United States is the official emblem of the nation and appears on the reverse of 1995-W Proof American Eagle Silver Coins. This design was modernized in 1986 by John Mercanti for the American Eagle Silver Coins and captures the eagle with the US national shield on its chest, arrows in one talon, and an olive branch in the other. Thirteen stars are arranged in a tight, triangular cluster above the birds head. Inscriptions read United States of America, 1 oz Fine Silver One Dollar. There is also a W mint mark on this side.

History

The 1995 date mark was celebrated as the 10th anniversary of the American Eagle Silver Coin. The US Mint sold 438,511 of the 1995-P Proof American Eagle Silver Coins that year, but produced and sold a set figure of just 30,125 of these 1995-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Silver Coins, making it the single lowest-minted coin in the history of the series.
