In 1995, the United States Mint celebrated the first decade of the American Gold Eagle, a beloved coin introduced in 1986. Despite its anniversary, demand for the Proof Gold Eagle remained steady. Now available at Provident Metals, the 1995-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coin holds historical significance and investment potential.
Highlights:
Every 1995-W Proof American Eagle 1 oz Gold Coin available at Provident Metals comes with official US Mint packaging, ensuring authenticity and quality. Encased in capsules, these coins are elegantly presented in a blue US Mint box, complete with a Certificate of Authenticity. Their proof finish displays frosted designs against mirrored background fields.
Obverse
On the obverse of 1995-W Proof American Eagle Gold Coins, Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ iconic Liberty image takes center stage, symbolizing freedom and opportunity. Originally featured on the $20 Gold Double Eagle in 1907, this timeless design resonates with collectors and investors alike. The inscriptions read LIBERTY, 1995, and the W mint mark.
Reverse
Turning to the reverse of the 1995-W Proof Eagle 1 oz Gold Coin, Miley Busiek’s portrayal of a family of bald eagles captures the essence of American heritage. Exclusively created for the American Gold Eagle series, this design depicts a male eagle soaring over a nest with a female eagle and hatchlings. The inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, IN GOD WE TRUST, 1 OZ. FINE GOLD, and 50 DOLLARS.
History
Despite the anniversary, 1995 saw consistent demand for the Proof Gold Eagles. Interestingly, only the 1/2 oz Proof Gold Eagle experienced an increase in demand compared to the previous year. The 1/10 oz Proof Gold Eagle experienced the smallest decline, followed by the 1 oz Proof Gold Eagle and the 1/4 oz Proof Gold Eagle, respectively.
