Obverse
The obverse of the 1985 Proof Canadian National Parks Moose Silver Dollar Coin features British monarch Elizabeth II. The image is one created by Arnold Machin in 1968 for use on coinage in Britain and across the globe. This depiction features a fairly young monarch wearing a tiara and includes the shoulders instead of opting for a traditional couped portrait style, which cuts off at the neck. Inscriptions read ELIZABETH II, CANADA, and D.G. REGINA. The last is short for Dei Gratia Regina, or By the Grace of God. The inscriptions are separated by maple leaf symbols.

Reverse
The reverse side of the coin includes the inscriptions NATIONAL PARKS, PARCS NATIONAUX, DOLLAR, and 1885 1985. The inscriptions on this side are also separated by maple leaves.
