The SS Tilawa, also known as the “Indian Titanic,” tragically sank in the Indian Ocean during World War II after being hit by Japanese torpedoes. Bound for Durban from Bombay, the ship was lost along with 2,364 silver bars. In 2017, a salvage mission successfully recovered around 60 tons of this silver. Obverse

The inscriptions include SS TILAWA, SHIPWRECK SILVER, 100 OZ, and .999 FINE SILVER.
Reverse
The reverse of 100 oz Silver S.S. Tilawa Shipwreck Bars features a depiction of the SS Tilawa itself. The ship is seen sailing smoothly across the water, with the background featuring a rippling effect to symbolize the ocean. Inscriptions here include SS TILAWA and 1942.
History
The SS Tilawa Shipwreck Silver Series provides an opportunity to own a part of history. The SS Tilawa, a British India Steam Navigation Company vessel, was sunk on November 23, 1942, by a Japanese submarine while carrying 60 tons of silver. After being rediscovered in 2014, the silver was successfully recovered in 2017, giving birth to this unique collection of silver bars, rounds, and more, all with ties to the shipwreck.

In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
