Each 10 oz Silver Queens Beast Completer Bar offered here comes individually sealed in a vinyl sleeve. These bars are based on the popular coin series and showcase all ten heraldic beasts together on the obverse. This release has a limited mintage of 6,000 bars and is part of a larger lineup that includes 1 oz silver and 1 oz gold bars with the same imagery.

Obverse

The obverse of the Silver Queens Beast Completer Bar features artwork created by Jody Clark. At the center is Queen Elizabeth II, shown in the classic Mary Gillick portrait from 1952. Surrounding her are the ten heraldic animals: Lion of England, Griffin of Edward III, Falcon of the Plantagenets, Black Bull of Clarence, Yale of Beaufort, White Lion of Mortimer, White Greyhound of Richmond, Red Dragon of Wales, Unicorn of Scotland, and White Horse of Hanover.

Reverse

The reverse side of the 10 oz Silver Queens Beast Completer Bar has a guilloche-style background and displays The Royal Mints official emblem. This side also includes details about the bars metal content, purity, and weight. The inscriptions include THE ROYAL MINT, 10 OZ, 999.9, and FINE SILVER.

History

The statues behind this Completer were crafted by sculptor James Woodford for Queen Elizabeth IIs coronation in 1953. Standing six feet tall, each beast was designed in the formal style of heraldry and held a shield with a family badge or arms. Although rooted in medieval symbolism, the statues were created with a modern style that reflected the art of the mid-20th century. These figures were placed at the entrance to Westminster Abbey, where they flanked the young Queens path during her coronation.
