History

Diamonds Are Forever was the seventh feature film from Eon Production and marked the sixth appearance of Sean Connery in the role of James Bond. After playing the Bond figure in the first five consecutive films, Connery had stepped away and George Lazenby took over the role in the sixth film. After Lazenby stepped away, United Artists wanted Connery back in the role and paid him a then-record $1.25 million to reprise the role.
