Highlights:
Each of these Pre-33 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle coins comes to you in Mint State 63 condition. Coins with this grade exhibit a mint luster that might be slightly impaired. Numerous small contact marks are possible along with a few scattered heavy marks. Small hairlines may also be visible without magnification.
Obverse
The obverse side of Pre-33 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coins features a left-profile portrait of Lady Liberty. The design depicts Liberty wearing a coronet on her head with the word Liberty inscribed on it. There are also 13 stars around her portrait and a date mark on this side of the coins.
Reverse
On the reverse face of Pre-33 $10 Liberty Gold Eagles, you will find the heraldic eagle of the United States. This image includes an American bald eagle with the heraldic shield of the nation on its chest. All versions of the Liberty Gold Eagle have United States of America and Ten D inscribed. Those issued from 1838 to 1866 have no national motto. Coins issued from late 1866 to 1907 have a ribbon in the birds beak that reads In God We Trust.
History
The Liberty Gold Eagle design was the longest-running design in the series and it featured designs on both sides from Christian Gobrecht. Mr. Gobrecht was an engraver with the Philadelphia Mint and created other designs beyond the Liberty Gold Eagle.
