Provident Metals is proud to introduce the 1 oz Silver Cretan Bull Round, the 7th release in our 12 Labors of Hercules Series. Each of these 1 oz silver rounds contains .999 fine silver, and was minted in an IRA approved facility to insure the highest quality of production.

After shooting down the Stymphalian Birds, King Eurystheus sent the Greek demi-god to capture the Cretan Bull in Crete. The chaotic bull was demolishing crops and leveling orchard walls in the town, so Hercules sailed to Crete and was given permission to apprehend the beast.

To stop the bull, Hercules crept up from behind and strangled it with his bare hands — stopping just before the monster died. He then sent the bull to Eurystheus, who hid when he saw it. The Cretan Bull was then released and became the Marathonian Bull in the town of Marathon.

To make Hercules’s feat even more extraordinary, the Cretan Bull is the father of the Minotaur — a half bull, half man creature. That, along with the beasts mighty stature, makes this 1 oz Silver Cretan Bull an impressive addition to the 12 Labors of Hercules series from Provident Metals.

The powerful Cretan Bull is displayed in his full glory on the reverse of this silver round. Its head is raised and its muscles bulge as he stands facing right. “CRETAN BULL” and “VII” are inscribed near the rim.

Hercules — shown in the familiar posture throughout the 12 Labors of Hercules series — graces the obverse. He holds a wooden club and wears the Nemean Lion on his head for protection. The inscription around the coin reads “1 oz CMXCIX FINE SILVER.”

Each round was struck at an ISO-9001 facility, which means they qualify for inclusion into precious metals IRAs. The mint fresh pieces are individually shipped in plastic envelopes, quantities of 20 are shipped in plastic tubes, and multiples of 500 in a Provident Green Monster Box.

Cretan Bull rounds will be available from March 12 through April 12, 2015.

Grab this bull round by the horns and add it to your collection!
