Arrowheads represent one of the first hand-shaped tools used by human civilizations. The use of arrowheads allowed ancient humans to more effectively hunt and kill game. A simple tool, arrowheads are still produced by the millions today, but not with the same processes as original samples. The beauty of ancient arrowheads is captured in a new 3D silver product from Monarch Precious Metals. Provident Metals now offers you a chance to buy 1 oz Silver 3D Poured Arrowheads from Monarch.

Highlights:

  • Arrives with plastic bags!
  • Recreates the look of a flint-knapped stone arrowhead!
  • 3D poured product with convex obverse field!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver.
  • Obverse is a 3D field with a replicated arrowhead.
  • Reverse has its own 3D surface with identifying marks.

Human civilizations have used arrowheads for thousands of years and created these tools using various processes over the course of time. Some of the earliest arrowheads used by human civilizations were sharpened and shaped bones from previous animals killed for food. As far back as 64,000 years ago, stone arrowheads were manipulated by humans.

Obverse

The obverse field of the 1 oz Silver 3D Poured Arrowheads is convex and depicts the appearance of a stone arrowhead. These types of arrowheads were created using flint-knapping, a process that used a stone to chip flakes off of softer stones. Those flakes were then chipped at further to shape the point and create sharp tips and edges.

Reverse

For the reverse, 1 oz Silver 3D Poured Arrowheads have the same convex field with the flint-knapped shaping. Inscriptions on this side of the 3D Poured Arrowheads include the Monarch Precious Metals logo in the shape of the MPM crown and the words 999 Fine Silver, One Troy Oz.

History

Ancient human civilizations were often more creative and advanced than modern people give them credit for. Stone arrowheads are a perfect example of this face. Stone arrowhead projectiles dating back 64,000 years were found in the ancient sediments of Sibudu Cave in South Africa. Examinations of those arrowheads found blood and bone residues, with a glue made from plant-based resins used to attach those arrowheads to wooden shafts.
