The Texas Mint is a prominent refiner in the United States, known for producing gold and silver bullion with .9999 purity. Along with Texas silver rounds, the mint also creates various silver and gold bars, including a popular design featuring the interior ceiling of the Capitol Rotunda in Austin. Now, 1 oz Gold Bars from the Texas Mint are available from Provident Metals.
Highlights:
These 1 oz Gold Bars from the Texas Mint are individually sealed in blistercards. The blisterpacks have a dark orange color, and multiples of 25 bars are packaged in Texas Mint boxes. Each card in the blisterpack features the silhouette of Texas along with the bar’s hallmarks.
Obverse
The obverse of the 1 oz Gold Bar showcases the image of the Texas Capitol Rotunda. The Rotunda’s central star, known as the “Lone Star,” is a significant symbol of Texas. The Rotunda’s dome stands 218 feet tall, taller than the dome of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. This side also includes the state’s silhouette and the bar’s hallmarks. Inscriptions here read 1 TROY OUNCE and 99.99% GOLD.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1 oz Gold Bar features the silhouette of Texas in a repeating pattern. The Republic of Texas originally claimed a larger territory than present-day Texas, including parts of New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming, based on the Treaties of Velasco. These claims were disputed by Mexico and later adjusted when Texas joined the United States.
History
Over the course of its history, Texas has seen six flags fly over its territory, making it the only state in the United States with such a history of governance. These flags include those of Spain (1519-1685 and 1690-1821), France (1685-1690), Mexico (1821-1836), the Republic of Texas (1836-1845), the Confederate States of America (1861-1865), and the United States of America (1845-1861 and 1865-present)
This diverse history has significantly influenced Texas culture, law, and demographics.
