The Texas State Capitol is an architectural marvel, taller and more voluminous than the U.S. Capitol, standing at 302.64 feet to the top of the Goddess of Liberty statue. This iconic structure is elegantly depicted on the reverse of the Texas Mint’s newest gold round. You can now purchase the 1 oz Gold 2024 Texas Capitol Rounds at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
Each 1 oz Gold 2024 Texas Capitol Round comes in a plastic capsule. When you purchase multiples of 10 rounds, they are individually encapsulated and delivered in a Texas Mint-branded box.
Obverse
On the obverse of the Gold 2024 Texas Capitol Rounds, you’ll find two significant Texas symbols. The background features a topographical outline of the State of Texas, with a smoothly engraved Lone Star superimposed over it. The Lone Star evolved as a symbol during the Texas Revolution. The inscriptions on this side include TEXAS PRECIOUS METALS and 2024.
Reverse
The reverse of the 1 oz Gold Texas Capitol Rounds depicts the exterior of the modern capitol building. The design includes the 16-foot statue of the Goddess of Liberty atop the rotunda and the south faade of the building, with the United States Flag and the Texas Flag flying above the southern entrance. Inscriptions on this side read .9999 GOLD and ONE TROY OZ.
History
Architecturally, the Texas State Capitol is a marvel of 19th-century design and engineering. Standing at 302.64 feet from the ground to the top of the Goddess of Liberty statue, it was the seventh-largest state capitol building in the United States upon completion. The building’s facade features elaborate carved details, including the six seals of the nations that have governed Texas throughout its history. The interior is equally impressive, with a central rotunda that extends 218 feet to a dome ceiling adorned with a painting of a lone star, symbolizing Texas’s nickname, “The Lone Star State.”
