For the second design of the Lost World Collection, the series offers its first glimpse of an herbivore following the debut T-Rex issue depicting the famous carnivore. In the second release, the Triceratops is depicted in right-profile relief on the obverse. Provident Metals now has 1 oz Copper The Lost World Collection Triceratops Rounds available to you for purchase online.
Highlights:
When you purchase a 1 oz Copper The Lost World Collection Triceratops Round online at Provident Metals, you will receive a round that is housed in an individual flip. Multiples are available in protective tubes of 20 rounds or boxes of 500 copper rounds. The box holds a total of 25 separate 20-round tubes.
Obverse
The obverse side of the Copper The Lost World Collection Triceratops Round features the head of the creature in right-profile relief. Eagle-eyed fans will notice that, over the course of the series, the herbivores are depicted in right-profile relief and the carnivores in left-profile relief. Inscriptions on this side of the round include TRICERATOPS, INI INAE IDAE, PSIE CHIA DIN, and CHO ANIM.
Reverse
On the reverse field of the 1 oz Copper Triceratops Round, you will find a depiction of the Lost World Collection emblem. This emblem includes the words LOST WORLD COLLECTION in rustic text at the center with a jungle design behind and a dinosaur footprint at the base. Also included is the inscription 1 OZ 999 FINE COPPER.
History
Triceratops and T-Rex are the first two creatures in the series and did live on the planet at the same time some 68 million years ago. Though common depictions of the Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex show the T-Rex preying on the Triceratops, this is not widely believed to have been common.
