The Giant Panda species is one of the more unique species of bear and the world. It also happens to be the unofficial emblem of the Peoples Republic of China and the focus on the national bullion coin program for the country. The Chinese Panda Bullion program has spawned numerous offshoot collections of silver bars, silver rounds, and copper rounds for investors. Right now, you can buy 1 oz Copper Panda Rounds online at Provident Metals.
Highlights:
If you purchase the 1 oz Copper Panda Rounds in this product listing, you will receive items that are in brand-new condition from the mint. Provident Metals has the rounds available inside of protective plastic flips for individual round purchases, tubes of 10 to 20 copper rounds, or boxes of 500 copper rounds. The box contains a total of 25 tubes of 20 copper rounds each.
Obverse
The obverse side of the 1 oz Copper Panda Round includes a depiction of two Giant Pandas. The design captures a loving family scene as an adult panda sitting on the right of the design field seems to guide the young cub in grabbing at bamboo leaves on the ground in front of it. There are a number of bamboo shoots and leaves on the ground in front of the pair of pandas.
Reverse
On the reverse face of 1 oz Copper Panda Rounds, you will find the image of a set of eagles wings common to the reverse of all copper rounds from this mint. The eagles wings are set in the center of the design element with a modified US national shield seeming to link the two wings. The American flag flaps in the breeze above this design with inscriptions of Copper .999 Fine and One AVDP Ounce featured on this face.
History
Chinese Panda bullion coins introduced the Giant Panda as a coin design element. The gold bullion version of the coins debuted in 1982 with new reverse designs of the Giant Panda for each date mark, except the 2002 repeat of the 2001 design. The Chinese Panda silver series debuted in 1983, but was not issued as a regular bullion coin annually until 1989. Today, the series remains one of the most popular in the industry.
