History

William Tells famous shot that split the apple atop his sons head was just one small part of a larger event. Tell was famous for pushing back against Austrian invasions of Switzerland. After refusing to bow to the Austrians, he was given a chance to save his own life by splitting the apple on his sons head. Tell famously took two arrows, but knew hed need just one. He is said to have chosen two arrows because if he missed the first shot, he intended to assassinate the Austrian invader that forced his hand.
