Tristan and Isolde is a story that has been around since the 12^th century and that has been told in numerous variations. The two most common variations come from the 12^th century itself and have been retold since the Middle Ages. Thomas of Britain and Beroul wrote poems about Tristan and Isolde in the 12^th century, while another version emerged in the 13^th century that linked the tale to the legends of King Arthur.

History
