Wall Street Mint silver bars were introduced in 2002 and struck on and off over the next decade-plus. The timing of the introduction of the bars gave rise to the concept that the bars were commemorative in nature, celebrating the New York skyline at a time when the city had suffered greatly from the 9/11 terror attacks. The bars were continually produced with an image of the New York City skyline on the obverse of the bars.

Obverse

The obverse of these all-new 1 Kilo Silver Wall Street Mint Bars features a depiction of the skyline as it towers over Wall Street in the Financial District in Lower Manhattan. While most of the skyline is a random collection of buildings, the tallest structure stands out as 40 Wall Street. Built-in 1929-1930, 40 Wall Street was one of the first skyscrapers on Wall Street and when it was completed, it was the tallest building in the world.

With the stamped design of the skyline at the top of the bar, you will notice a variety of other inscriptions on this face of the bar. These include Vivamus Moriendum Est, Wall Street Mint, One Kilo .999 Fine Silver, a diamond, and a one-of-a-kind serial number. You will also notice the logo of Scottsdale Mint on the face of the bar.

Reverse

1 Kilo Silver Wall Street Mint Bars are available with a blank reverse face. Though there are no specific design elements, you will notice natural features such as lines, striations, and other textures that result from the production process. As the poured silver cools and settles in the cast, these lines and textures are a natural result.

History

Wall Street Mint modern bars are a product of the Scottsdale Mint. The private American mint now owns the Wall Street Mint brand and has resumed producing cast silver bars with the famed Wall Street Mint branding.
