SilverTowne boasts a storied past of producing contemporary bullion items featuring iconic American coin designs. For their silver rounds, SilverTowne has reproduced a broad range of designs, including the Morgan Dollar, Saint-Gaudens Liberty, Walking Liberty, and the renowned Incuse Indian. Today, you have the opportunity to get 1/10 oz Silver Incuse Indian Rounds from SilverTowne online from Provident Metals.

Highlights:

  • Arrives with individual flips, protective tubes of 50 rounds, and boxes for larger quantities!
  • Inspired by the Incuse Indian!
  • Contains 1/10 Troy oz of .999 pure silver.
  • Obverse depicts an indigenous tribal figure.
  • Reverse features the American bald eagle.

The Incuse Indian design was created by Bela Lyon Pratt at around the same time that Augustus Saint-Gaudens was revamping the $10 Gold Eagle and the $20 Gold Double Eagle coin for the US Mint and President Theodore Roosevelt. Pratt’s design was exclusively used on the Quarter Eagle and Half Eagle coins and was noteworthy for its incuse striking.

Obverse

The 1/10 oz Silver Incuse Indian Round showcases Pratt’s original 1908 design of the Indian Head coinage on its obverse side. This left-profile portrait highlights a Native American tribal leader in full headdress, surrounded by 15 stars, and the word “Liberty” engraved above his head.

Reverse

On the reverse side of the Silver Incuse Indian Round from SilverTowne, Pratt’s eagle design is featured. This eagle is depicted at rest on a bundle of arrows wrapped in an olive branch. The bird is surrounded by engravings of the issuing mint, the national motto of the US, and the phrase “E Pluribus Unum.”

History

Instead of producing the designs on the coins’ surface with a raised design field, the US Mint opted to utilize Pratts incuse design for the Quarter Eagle and Half Eagle coins. This resulted in the Indian and Eagle designs being stamped into the coins’ surface, with no raised design area above the coin’s actual surface. This same approach features in the strike of these diminutive silver rounds.

Ordering

1/10 oz Silver Incuse Indian Rounds are available in protective flips for individual rounds. Multiples come in protective tubes of 50 or boxes of 50-round tubes for larger volumes.
